Day 1 | Arrival (Travel Time 1hr+)

Arrive at the Entebbe International Airport, meet and greet with the company tour driver and tour manager and transfer to your hotel in Entebbe or Kampala. Relax at the hotel and shake off the jetlag.

Day 2 | Kampala | Ziwa Rhinos | Murchison Falls (Travel Time 6hr+)

Elephant Family at Queen Elizabeth National Park

The tour driver shall pick you from the hotel at 7.00am for the start of the trip. Your first visit shall be to the Ziwa Rhino and Wildlife Sanctuary home to Uganda’s only wild Rhinos. The sanctuary is conveniently located along the route to Murchison Falls National Park, about two and half hour’s drive from Kampala. You will be provided an armed ranger to lead a two hour trek into the sanctuary which harbors a healthy population of 13 Rhinos. The Rhinos share the sanctuary with several other animals including Oribi, Kob, Leopard, Crocodile, Hippos, and Bushbuck among other. Over 351 species of birds have also been recorded on the sanctuary. After the trek you will continue to Masindi town for a meal and thereafter continue to Murchison Falls National Park. Check into your lodge for overnight.

Day 3 | Game drive | Boat trip | Top of the Falls hike

You should be up by 6am, take a cup of tea with a snack and quickly head off into the park for the game drive. Expect to sight many animals including: Lions, Hyenas, Giraffes, Elephants, Buffaloes, Warthogs, and several species of Antelopes. Bird lovers will enjoy sighting plenty of savanna birds including Carmine Bee-eaters and Abyssinian Ground Hornbills. After roughly 4 hours return to the lodge for breakfast and relax. Have lunch at 1pm, and at 2pm you will set out for yet another exciting safari ‒ the Launch Ride on the Nile! The 2 hour ride upstream rewards with plenty of wildlife. Hippos and Crocodiles are permanent residents of the river while plenty of other animals along the river banks especially during the hot afternoons to drink water, cool off or take a shower. Elephants, Buffaloes, and Antelopes are common sightings. Water birds are in abundance and some of the species include Herons, Crakes, Kingfishers, and Fish Eagles. The launch goes up to the base of the spectacular Murchison Falls, and at this point you will leave the launch and meet a ranger guide who then takes you on a one hour hike to the top of the falls. Enjoy breathtaking views of the waterfalls and take plenty of wonderful photos. When you reach the top the driver guide shall have reached there and will then drive back to the lodge for overnight.

Day 4 | Murchison Falls | Kibale National Park (Travel Time 7hr+)

Have early breakfast, check out and leave for Kibale National Park located in Western Uganda in the shadows of the Rwenzori Mountains ‒ the legendary “Mountains of the Moon”! You shall stopover in Fort Portal town for a meal before continuing to your lodge located near the Kibale Forest.

Day 5 | Kibale Forest | Bigodi Wetland (Travel Time 6hrs+)

Chimpanzee Tracking at Kibale Forest National Park

After a quick breakfast, transfer to the Kibale Park office ‒ latest by 7.30am. Meet the park ranger guides who will offer some insightful information about the forest and the Chimpanzee trek. By 8am you are walking into the forest to track the Chimpanzees and observe plenty of other wildlife in the forest. Kibale is especially notable for her large concentration of primates comprising of 13 different species. It is also of Uganda’s top bird destinations with over 200 species of birds. After the memorable forest and Chimp experience return to the lodge for lunch and relaxation. In the afternoon you will visit Bigodi Wetlands that is located on the edge of Kibale Forest. A walk in Bigodi rewards with a number of primates and birds. Return to the lodge for overnight.

Day 6 | Travel to Queen Elizabeth N.P. | Boat Cruise (Travel Time 4hrs+)

Have breakfast, check out and leave for Queen Elizabeth National Park. Check into your lodge, have lunch and immediately transfer to Mweya for the boat ride on the Kazinga Channel. This is by far the biggest highlight of the safari in Queen Elizabeth National Park. The two hour ride will expose you to a plethora of wildlife along the channel which includes Hippos, Crocodiles, Monitor Lizards, Buffaloes, Elephants and several species of water birds. After the boat safari you are transferred back to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 7 | Morning game drive, travel to Bwindi N.P. (Travel Time 3hrs+)

Another day, another safari! Have a quick cup of tea/coffee with a snack and set off for the game drive in the park. You will spot many animals while enjoying breathtaking sights of the explosion craters surrounded by the lush landscape. Common game sighted includes: Elephants, Hyenas, Lions, Buffaloes, and several species of Antelope. After close to three hours, return to the lodge for breakfast and relaxation. You will have early lunch, check out and leave for Bwindi National Park – home of the endangered Mountain Gorillas. Check into the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 8 | Gorilla tracking, travel to Lake Bunyonyi (Travel Time 3hrs+)

Be up as early as 6am for breakfast, get your lunchbox, and carry enough drinking water (at least one liter) and a rain jacket, transfer to the park offices. Meet the rangers for apportioning of Gorilla groups. No more than 8 people can track one group, and each person should be 15 years and above. You are briefed about the Bwindi and the Gorilla activity, and the trek starts by 8am. The time taken to find your assigned group is unpredictable given that the Gorillas are moving from place to place, so it could take from a few minutes to several hours. During the trek you also get to observe plenty of life ranging from monkeys, unique tree species, colorful butterflies, moths, birds. You will be allowed no more than one hour to view the gorillas, but it will be the most unforgettable time you ever spend in the wild. Return to meet your driver and transfer to Lake Bunyonyi which is located 2 ‒ 3 hours drive from Bwindi. Dine and overnight at your lodge overlooking the lake ringed by the terraced rolling highlands.

Day 9 | Travel to Kampala (Travel Time 7hrs+)

Be up as early as 6.30am and set out for a canoe ride on Lake Bunyonyi. From the terraced highlands down to the lake, the atmosphere is engulfed in mist! It is like a scene from the fairy land depicted in movies. “Bunyonyi” is local term that means “many birds”, originating from the diverse bird species around the area. Explore the lake and visit some of the islands, view plenty of birds and enjoy the mystic scenery. Return to the lodge for breakfast. Check out and leave for Kampala. You shall stopover in Mbarara town for a meal. You will also make another stopover at the Uganda Equator. Get to Kampala in the evening and transfer to your hotel for dinner and overnight.

Day 10 | Departure to Entebbe

This is departure day, however your flight schedule allows you will do a tour of Kampala City to visit local markets to purchase souvenirs, also giving you the chance to mingle with the locals. You also visit some of the cultural and traditional landmarks among them including the Kabaka’s (King) Palace, the Kasubi Tombs (a UNESCO heritage site), Gaddafi Mosque, Baha'i Temple, and Namirembe Cathedral. You have lunch in-between. Later in the day return to lodge for refreshment, check out and transfer to Entebbe International Airport for your evening flight back home.
