Sanje Mangabey in Swahili: unknown (Cercocebus sanjei)

Length (excluding tail): 50 – 65 cm; weight: 7 – 9 kg. Essentially a west African monkey, this shaggy forest-dwelling relative of the baboons is represented by two extremely isolated populations in East Africa: one in Tanzania’s Udzungwa Mountains and another along Kenya’s Tna River. Both are classified as full species by most authorities.
