Roan Antelope in Swahili: korongo (Hippotragus equinus)

Shoulder height: 120 – 150 cm; weight: 250 – 300 kg. This hundsome horse-like antelope is uniform fown-grey with a pale belly, short decurved horns and a light mane. It coild be mistaken from the female sable antelope, but this is has a well-defined white belly, much larger horns and is more brown in facial markings. The roam is widespread but thinly distributed in southern Tanzania, through rare in the north, with one small population known to occur (yet seldom seen) in the Serengeti.
