Reedbuck in Swahili: tohe (Redunca spp.)
Shoulder height: 65 – 90 cm; weight: 30 – 65 kg. The three species of reedbuck are all rather nondescript fawn-grey antelopes generally seen in open grassland near water. The mountain reedbuck (R. fulvorufula) is the smallest and most distinct, with a clear white belly, tiny horns and an overall grey appearance. It has a broken distribution, occurring in mountainous parts of eastern South Africa, northern Tanzania, Kenya and southern Etiopia. The Bohor reedbuck (R. redunca) is found in northern Tanzania, whereas the southern reedbuck (R. arundinum) occurs in southern Tanzania.
