Grant’s gazelle in Tanzania

Grant’s gazelle in Swahili: swala granti (Gazella granti)

Shoulder height: 75–95 cm; weight: 35–75 kg. Occurring along Thomson’s gazelle in many parts of East Africa, the larger Grant’s gazelle has a brown rather than black side stripe and comparatively large horns. It is common in the Serengeti but might be seen as far south as Ruaha National Park, which represents the most southerly part of its range.
