Angola Colobus in Tanzania

Angola colobus in Swahili: mbega mweupe (Colobus angolensis)

Length (excluding tail): 60–70 cm, weight: 10–16 kg. Although it is very similar in appearance to the black-and-white colobus, the Angola colobus differs in having a more streamlined and darker tail and no white on the beard. Both species are subdivided into a number of races, and the assignment of some is controversial, but three Tanzanian populations, those of the Eastern Arc Mountains (including the Usambara), southern highlands, and Lake Tanganyika forests, are now generally regarded to be Angola colobus.
